Effective sickness absence management is a key part of maintaining a healthy and productive workforce. It enables employers to meet their legal duty of care, reduce absence-related costs, and support employees in recovering and returning to work safely.

At MediTree Healthcare, we offer appointments for absence management referrals, (sometimes called case management or occupational health referrals) within three working days and a report of the assessment will be provided within three working days. These appointments can happen either remotely or at our clinic in Glasgow, where face-to-face assessments are required. Our Occupational Health Physicians provide impartial, evidence-based assessments that help organisations understand the medical factors behind an employee’s absence. We assess fitness for work, advise on expected recovery timelines, and recommend practical adjustments or phased return plans.

Our approach focuses on early intervention, clear communication, and collaboration with all stakeholders — including HR, line managers, and the employee — to facilitate sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
