Chester Step Test
Gauging your fitness reliably often depends on measuring your heart’s recovery ability following physical effort.
This is precisely what the Chester Step Test achieves. This multi-stage, sub-maximal assessment requires you to step onto and off a 30 cm (12-inch) step at a progressively increasing rate, which is set by a metronome. The goal is to safely elevate your heart rate to roughly 80% of its maximum. After the test, your heart rates are plotted on a graph, allowing us to accurately calculate your aerobic capacity and fitness rating.
