Offshore Medicals
A proper Offshore medical is an essential requirement for anyone working in the offshore industry. You are required to hold a valid OEUK Certificate.
This medical is an overall assessment of your fitness for work offshore and can only be performed by an OEUK approved Doctor.
Procedure and Assessment
The medical typically lasts 45 minutes and includes:
-
Medical History: Review of your health, medical, social, and occupational history.
-
Clinical Examination: A general physical check-up.
-
Tests: Audiometry (hearing), Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation, Visual Acuity (sight), and Urinalysis.
Note: Additional investigations (such as blood tests, ECG, Spirometry, or Drug and Alcohol screen) are not routinely required but may be necessary to clarify clinical findings.
